To begin our Style Insights series, we interview personal stylist Alison McDougal to discuss refining your style, seasonal dressing and investing in a capsule wardrobe.

On average just 20 percent of the clothes in our wardrobes are worn on a regular basis. So to start 2019, here are some top tips to declutter and edit your wardrobe for the year ahead. Just remember, a successful detox doesn’t mean culling everything you own and buying a new wardrobe, it’s about re-imagining new ways to wear pieces you already own, and focusing on key pieces that will stand the test of time.
