#WhyIRent with Renia Jaz, @venswifestyle

Proving that style is ageless, we sat down with Renia Jaz (@venswifestyle), a Newcastle-based 50+ fashion blogger, who has conquered the Instagram world with her age-is-only-a-number style advice.

Describe your style in three words?

Mix of classic, avant-garde and a dash of femininity.

What does a typical day in the life of @venswifestyle normally look like?

I start my day by checking my emails and Instagram. Followed by looking at what’s new in on my favourite websites such as: Net-a-Porter, MatchesFashion, Farfetch, MyTheresa and now also HURR. Depending what’s on my agenda, I either get ready for a photoshoot or for a business meeting.

In the evening, I try to find some time to exercise followed by working on my photos and planning my next photoshoots. Besides my bed I keep a book, which I always read before going sleep!

What are some personal style philosophies you swear by?

Don’t be afraid to try new trends. Mix clothes from high street stores with more expensive, designer pieces to create a look that’s truly unique. Try to add original accessories to your outfit and don’t be afraid of colour. Even a single colourful element can inject energy and revive an entire outfit!

Do you have any designers who you rely on for certain occasions? If so, who?

I love Max Mara, their clothes are perfect for pretty much every occasion. I’m absolutely in love with their recent collections. In the summer, I love wearing Jacquemus, and I’m a big fan of his mini bags and unique shoes.

When it comes to my everyday outfits, I tend to choose Balenciaga, Prada and Burberry. When it comes to evening outfits I love Solace London.

What are your favourite wardrobe staples?

High quality white shirts, jeans, cashmere sweaters, and these days you can see me a lot in puffed sleeved dresses and tops.

If you were on a desert island and could only bring three things, what would you take with you?

If I had to choose just clothes, I’d bring a one-piece swim suit from Marysia, Bermuda shorts and tie dye shirt from Prada.

If anything, then I would take my Kindle, sun cream, and big sunglasses!

What’s your favourite item you’ve listed on HURR and why?

One of my favourite items that I have listed is my white Cult Gaia bag. It’s such a fun and unique summer bag!

What is the top item you’ve rented from another HURR member?

Definitely the Bottega clutch which I had with me during London Fashion Week. It’s such a classic piece, and it goes well with everything. I’m currently eyeing a Zimmermann dress, and a Saint Laurent Bag – those are two items I will be borrowing soon.

What’s the best piece of style advice you have received?

Dress for yourself not for others 🙂
