Colour Of the Year: Yellow
As we look to 2019’s spring/summer runway trends, it’s difficult to miss the luminous shades of Yellow we’ll all be wearing next year.
New York Fashion Week
Pantone’s trend forecast predicts lively yellow hues to be Spring/Summer 2019 top colour trend. The instant mood-lifter spans Turmeric and Mango Mojito to Aspen Gold. Seen across Self-Portrait’s, Carolina Herrara’s and Brandon Maxwell’s collections, we’ve rounded up the different shades to keep you ahead of the curve.
So which shade?
From the trench coats at Escada to the 70s-inspired dresses at Jonathan Simkhai, egg-yolk colours dominated the catwalks for the new season. This pale shade works well with similar pastel hues, perfect for a summer ’19 holiday look.
“Brightening our day, sunny Aspen Gold stimulates feelings of joy and good cheer.”
Prevalent amongst Carolina Herrera’s presentation, this deep yellow hue boarders into orange and can be worn with coral shades for a chic yet high-impact aesthetic.
This shade was delivered from the likes of Etro and Chanel this season. When it comes to this shade, anything goes. Our favourite? Contrast lemon shades with lilacs and baby blues.
“The golden yellow Mango Mojito feeds our craving for pleasant comforts.”
It’s bold and definitely demands attention. Seen throughout Brandon Maxwell’s collection, marigold yellow is designed to make a statement, so don’t hold back.
